Children are welcome. However, we feel that the property and gardens are not suitable for toddlers. The villa has an infinity pool 4 ft 6 inches deep with no shallow end suitable for younger children to play in. The villa is built on three different levels with terraces that are linked by steps. There are only low walls around each terrace. The rest of the grounds are left in the natural habitat of rocks and vegetation. There are a few natural sink holes which we have filled with stones. The land slopes 20 ft down to the water. There are paths and steps down to the deck/dock by the water. There is access into the sea water from the deck / dock. Chalk Sound is about 3ft 6 inches deep at this point. The villa is furnished with a mixture of our personal items both modern and antique collected from our travels abroad.
If you think the above sounds suitable for children under the age of 12 they are very welcome, but we ask that you seek our agreement before booking and we can not take any responsibility for any accident or damage that might occur.
Pets are not allowed except by prior arrangement with express approval in writing. However, we do have a visiting ‘potcake’, a native dog. She lives at our neighbour’s house but visits us from time to time. She is very gentle and friendly. Her name is Sophie.
No, not in the Villa.
Visitors from the U.S.A. and Canada require either a valid passport, or an original birth certificate and a photo id. All other visitors require a passport. Some visitors from non commonwealth and former eastern bloc countries may require a Visa. If in doubt, contact your nearest British Consulate Office. All visitors must hold a round trip ticket. Stay is limited to 30 days.
No.
Yes, our agent will escort you to the villa. You will need to take a taxi or rental car. Once at the villa they will orientate you with everything and answer any questions you may have.
Our agent is on 24 hour call. There is also a welcome book at the villa packed full of information and contact numbers should you require them.
Yes, this can be arranged prior to your visit or when you get here, by our agent, or you can go on the internet and do it yourself. You can also see the current rates and availability on the internet. Avis, Hertz and Budget operate here. Bicycles, scooters and motorbikes are also available to hire.
Yes
About five minutes drive there is a lovely quiet spot although the waters are quite shallow. The famous Grace Bay beach is about 20 minutes drive. Our agent can advise you of great places depending on your requirements.
The island is very safe. The Turks & Caicos have the lowest crime rate of all the Caribbean islands. However, it is wise to take the natural precautions as you would at home. There is a simple to use alarm system, with 24 hour monitoring, at the villa.
No, there is nothing poisonous or dangerous on the islands. There are mosquitoes and sand flies. If you are troubled by these it is wise to bring repellent with you as it may be cheaper than buying it here.
Yes. There is filtered water in the villa. You can buy bottled water if you wish.
Very informal. All the restaurants are very relaxed with their attitude to dress. The only time you may be required to wear a jacket and tie is at some of the more formal restaurants at Christmas and New Year. It is wise to bring something warm if you are here in the October to April period. Occasionally it can get chilly dining out in the evening.
The Turks and Caicos are best suited to those who want to relax, destress, and eat well. If you love water and anything on, in, or next to it, then this is your place. If, on the other hand, you like culture, visiting museums, shop-till -you-drop, and partying to the wee small hours, then do not come here.
The agent will orientate you with everything when you arrive. There are laminated ‘Quick User Guides’ in the kitchen, and media room. There are manuals with more detailed information in the library.
Contact our agent, she is there for you and to make your stay as enjoyable. If something breaks down everything will be done to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. Small breakages will not normally be charged for, but please tell the agent so that it can be replaced for the next visitors to enjoy.
There is a complimentary mid week light clean and change of linen. If you require a maid on other days it can be arranged through our agent. They can arrange almost anything you may wish for, from a private chef to baby-sitting. A full list of their services is in the welcome book.
Yes. It is at the end of a cul-de-sac. There are other villas around but once you are on the patio by the pool you are not over looked and you will not see a soul, except the occasional kayaker on Chalk Sound. It is very quiet and we ask you to consider this when playing music outside.
Yes. The gardener will visit once a week for a couple of hours and the pool man will check and clean the pool once a week. All other maintence is carried out between rentals. If something needs to be repaired then the work will be carried out at a time agreed between you and the agent.
